In My Creative Classroom with Leonard Braber

In this webinar series, our wonderfully talented Adobe Education Community members will inspire you, and your students, by sharing their own experiences in the creative classroom.

Each presenter will give you a view of their creative teaching process and inspire you to include creative activities in your curriculum. During each hour long session we’ll start by getting to know the presenter through an interview. We will then walk you through the planning, implementation and assessment of a creative learning activity. You’ll also learn technical tips and tricks to make using Adobe software a success in your classroom.

Our presenter for this session is Leonard Braber, Adode Education Leader, and Video & Animation Teacher at Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam.

Leonard Braber teaches Video and Animation at Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He also teaches theatre techniques: professional lightning, sound, and live-video. Many of his students continue their careers as a camera-man, video-editor, web designer or find jobs in the movie or theatre industry as professional light, sound or video technicians. He uses a wide ranges of cameras in his lessons, simple HD cameras, DSLR cameras and professional HDV cameras. His students learn to work with camera-cranes and even Steadicams. He is operational manager of Flex FM, a streaming radio-station wich is runned by VMBO (K-12) students.

Braber has been teaching since 1997. He especially relates to younger students and loves getting them motivated to push themselves to achieve goals they never previously imagined possible. "If you give students great opportunities and responsibility, they can do amazing things." Braber is personally interested in new and challenging software. He is now teaching Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. He also began working with Muse and After Effects after visiting the 2013 Adobe MAX.

Leonard lives in the Netherlands countryside with his wife and two children. In his spare time he is a passionate musician who plays (an Edwards) bass trombone in two wind orchestras.
